Ajax Amsterdam Eyes Roony Bardghji Amid Potential Departures

Ajax Amsterdam is reportedly considering entering the race for Roony Bardghji, a 20-year-old talent currently at FC Barcelona. However, any move hinges on the departure of another winger from Ajax's ranks.

The Dutch club is looking to bolster its squad further, and FC Barcelona could become a key player in this endeavor. Following the loan of goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen, this would mark a second transaction between the two clubs this summer.

Godts Sale as a Catalyst

According to Diario SPORT, the potential acquisition of Bardghji is contingent upon the sale of Mika Godts, a 21-year-old whose contract runs until 2029. Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly had an initial offer of €50 million rejected.

Ajax is demanding a higher fee, but PSG is willing to increase their bid. This situation is advantageous for the Champions League winners, as Godts has already agreed on personal terms with the French club.

Should the Godts deal go through, Ajax plans to reinvest the funds, with Noa Lang from SSC Napoli high on their list of targets. Additionally, Bardghji has emerged as a viable option.

Barça's Intentions and Bardghji's Preferences

Previously, Ajax had seemingly ruled out pursuing Bardghji, as Barcelona preferred a permanent transfer following the signing of Karim Adeyemi instead of another loan. However, fresh funds from the Godts sale could enable Ajax to act.

Reports suggest that Bardghji himself is keen on a loan move, with the intention of returning to Barcelona next summer to vie for a spot in the squad. Barcelona, on the other hand, is looking for a permanent transfer that includes a buy-back option.

Under coach Hansi Flick, Bardghji may find limited opportunities, especially after the arrivals of Karim Adeyemi and Anthony Gordon, alongside the retention of Raphinha, unless a transfer occurs.

Last season, Bardghji struggled for playing time, often finding himself overshadowed by superstar Lamine Yamal. His appearances were mostly limited to filling in on the right wing when Yamal was unavailable due to injury.

Other clubs interested in Roony Bardghji include Olympique Marseille, Borussia Dortmund, and several teams from the Premier League.
