Reggina's Abonckelet Looks Ahead: "Fantastic Fans, We Want to Give Them Something Important"
After a 2-1 loss to Sanremese in their final friendly, Mady Abonckelet reflects on Reggina's performance and the team's outlook ahead of the new season.

Following a 2-1 defeat against Sanremese in their final friendly match during the first phase of training in Piedmont, Mady Abonckelet took the opportunity to reflect on Reggina's performance and the team's current state as they prepare for the upcoming season.
The midfielder highlighted the positive signs observed, particularly in the first half of the match, while acknowledging the drop in performance during the second half. "I have good feelings, even though a bit of fatigue set in. The group is fantastic, and that is definitely a positive aspect. It’s disappointing about the result because we always step onto the field to win, even in friendlies. In the first half, we showed some good things, while in the second half, we experienced a decline," he stated.
Abonckelet also pointed out the tremendous enthusiasm displayed by Reggina's fans during the training camp. The support from the local community serves as a significant motivator for the team.
"Seeing such an energized fanbase makes us very happy. Our supporters follow us everywhere, and we feel their affection. We hope to give them something important this season," the midfielder expressed.
Looking ahead, Abonckelet eagerly anticipates returning to Reggio Calabria and making their debut in front of the Granillo crowd, a moment that is highly anticipated as the season kicks off.
"In Reggio, there is a strong desire to start and finally see the team on the field. Debuting at home is something truly beautiful. We are ready, and we hope our fans are too, as we want to see them by our side," he concluded.
