Paul Pogba, the 33-year-old World Cup winner, is reportedly on the verge of parting ways with AS Monaco, with plans to terminate his contract early.

According to Nice Matin, the club based in the Principality has already informed the midfielder about the impending end of their collaboration. Both parties are currently negotiating a financial settlement, which includes the payment of outstanding wages owed to Pogba.

Limited Playing Time This Season

Pogba joined Monaco in the summer of 2025 on a free transfer after serving a doping suspension related to a positive test for DHEA. The move was intended to mark a fresh start for the former star of Manchester United and Juventus, especially since he had not played a competitive match in almost two years prior to this transfer.

However, the anticipated revival has not materialized. In his comeback season, Pogba managed only six appearances, totaling a mere 115 minutes on the pitch. Ongoing physical issues plagued his season, culminating in a training injury earlier this month, which forced him to exit a session due to pain in his left thigh.

A Disconnect Between Public Statements and Reality

Just weeks ago, Pogba expressed his desire to continue playing for Monaco in the upcoming season via social media. At that time, he claimed there had been no discussions regarding his future. However, it appears the club had a different perspective on the situation.
