Kompany Comments on Bayern's Transfer Strategy

Bayern Munich has taken a cautious approach in the transfer market this season. During a recent press conference, Vincent Kompany addressed the club's potential for further signings.

So far, Bayern has made only two acquisitions, bringing in Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari, with a hefty investment of 100 million euros. At the conclusion of their Asian tour, Kompany refrained from confirming whether this would be the extent of their transfer activities.

Kompany Skillfully Dodges Questions on New Signings

When asked about additional signings, Kompany skillfully sidestepped the inquiry, stating, "When I give my press conferences, I usually have Max (Eberl) or Christoph (Freund) sitting next to me. I try not to avoid this question, but in the end, it is their responsibility to keep an eye on the market for departures and new arrivals."

Despite his evasiveness, the Belgian expressed satisfaction that the club secured his two preferred players "really, really early." However, he remained tight-lipped about how his team would look for their competitive opener against Borussia Dortmund on August 22.

Kompany maintained a pragmatic outlook, noting, "There are still some players who will return, and we are looking forward to that. Our squad will continue to evolve from this point on, especially since we will have players coming back." Nevertheless, it is likely he is still hoping for additional signings, even though Eberl recently emphasized that the planning for incoming transfers is largely complete.

Bayern Faces Potential Departures

On the other hand, Bayern may see at least three players leave the club before the transfer window closes on September 1. Joao Palhinha, Sacha Boey, and Bryan Zaragoza are all candidates for departure. If all three find new clubs, it could free up funds for Bayern to make further moves in the market. However, there are currently no concrete candidates linked to a transfer to Bayern.
