Cavagnis Highlights Torino Primavera's Potential After Recent Victory

The recent triumph over Inter's Primavera team has put a spotlight on the promising talents within Torino's youth academy. Despite their less-than-stellar league position, the players are generating optimism about the future.
In an interview with Torinogranata.it, director of sports and professional scout Alberto Cavagnis shared his insights after closely observing the Torino youth squad. He is set to watch them again in their upcoming match against Verona. "I've studied Torino's Primavera on several occasions and will soon see them live against Verona. They are playing good football and perhaps deserve a few more points than they have," Cavagnis remarked.
Cavagnis praised the team's tactical setup, noting their effective 4-3-3 formation. He highlighted several players, including Gabellini, who he believes is ready to gain experience with the senior team, alongside talents like Olinga, Acquah, Sandrucci, the promising 2008 Bonacina, and Zaia. He also commended goalkeeper Cereser for his impressive skills at a young age. "Against Inter, they won deservedly, demonstrating not just quality in play but also strong organization. They are a compact team that is growing in confidence. Baldini is doing an excellent job, and some of these players are ready to make the leap, regardless of the category, to gain experience with the first team. Congratulations to Torino and director Ludergnani," Cavagnis added.
When discussing Gabellini specifically, Cavagnis described him as a determined forward with solid technical skills and a good physical presence. "He knows how to score goals, as evidenced last year, and deserves the chance to train with the first team," he stated.
Cavagnis also shared his thoughts on the overall level of the Primavera 1 championship, stating that it is high in comparison to Primavera 2, which he considers to be of a lower standard. "Almost all teams have good organization and promising prospects. However, the challenge for bigger clubs is to invest in youth. Nonetheless, there are positive developments, as seen with the young Inter team advancing in the Youth League," he concluded.
