"Unforgettable!", "Exceptional!": Rated 4.4 out of 5, it's the best film by Élodie Bouchez... and one of the best French films of the 2020s!

Élodie Bouchez stars in "Ulysse", currently in theaters. This is an opportunity to discover the highest-rated film by audiences in the actress's filmography.

"Ulysse", the new film by Lætitia Masson, recently closed the Un Certain Regard competition at the Cannes Film Festival. This resolutely autobiographical work features the director's own son in the role of teenage Ulysse.

Alice (Élodie Bouchez), a sociology researcher, and her husband Vladimir (Stanislas Merhar) see their happiness turn upside down when their son Ulysse, after a first birthday marked by worrying tests, receives a diagnosis of a genetic disability. From then on, Alice moves heaven and earth to ensure her child finds his place in a society that keeps him at bay.

The highest-rated film is...

Élodie Bouchez made her film debut at 15 in "Stan the Flasher" by Serge Gainsbourg (1989), but it was "Les Roseaux sauvages" (1994) that earned her first recognition, winning a César for Most Promising Actress. She followed this with a remarkable double for "La Vie rêvée des anges" (1998): César for Best Actress and Best Actress Award at Cannes.

In 2018, she collaborated for the first time with Jeanne Herry in "Pupille", a role that earned her the Lumières Award for Best Actress and a César nomination. She reunites with the director in 2023 in "Je verrai toujours vos visages", a film about restorative justice. Nominated eight times for the César, the film earned Adèle Exarchopoulos the César for Best Supporting Actress, while Élodie Bouchez was nominated in the same category.

With over 14,200 ratings and nearly 1,125 reviews on AlloCiné, "Je verrai toujours vos visages" boasts an average rating of 4.4 out of 5, placing it at the top of the actress's filmography.

Audience Opinions

Ciné-13 (5/5): "It's a revelation! This restorative justice that turns out to be perhaps the panacea to the multiple issues faced by victims and criminals. We discover the role of CPIPs as gentle and empathetic specialized mediators, with Élodie Bouchez opposite a brilliant Exarchopoulos. (...) Unforgettable !"

Americo (5/5): "Exceptional. It's hard to imagine the same without the radiant faces of Élodie Bouchez, expressive Dali Benssalah, and the talent of Podalydès or Darroussin. (...)"

Critique Facile (5/5): "(...) Élodie Bouchez radiates sweetness. Adèle Exarchopoulos is a shattered mirror of ever more astonishing beauty. Leïla Bekhti transcends herself in her rage to achieve resilience. Dali Benssalah is a raw gem in a radicality that deliciously crumbles throughout the narrative. Gilles Lellouche is intense at every moment. Jean-Pierre Darroussin expresses everything while saying so little. Denis Podalydès passes like a breath, but always unforgettable. Fred Testot is massive, a presence apart. Birane Ba doesn't shout but dynamites the screen. And the palm goes to Miou-Miou, moving at the peak of an already infinite art. "Je verrai toujours vos visages" speaks to us with as much truth as virtuosity about restorative justice, but goes far beyond, as the film carries within it, in its heart, in its guts, a piece of humanity. We are in the strength of truth with the magic of cinema. It's now or never."

Duel (5/5): "I am rarely impressed by a film, but I must say I was blown away on all fronts, both by the finesse of the dialogues, the incredible accuracy of all the actors, the strength of the stories, and the quality of the direction. Yet the subject was tricky and could have easily fallen into tearful pathos or simplistic good/evil dichotomies. We become attached to all the characters, all credible and authentic, from Leïla Bekhti to Miou-Miou, from Adèle Exarchopoulos to Élodie Bouchez and Gilles Lellouche; even the supporting roles of Denis Podalydès and Jean-Pierre Darroussin add that extra touch that gives the film incredible strength. I challenge anyone not to shed a tear at some point, purely from emotion. And then, in the end, it restores faith in humanity."

Bruno E. (5/5): "One of the films of the year. No downtime, very powerful, a rare subject. Some scenes are very moving. At times, you might shed a few tears."
