Only a year after his romantic comedy "L’amour c'est surcoté," director Mourad Winter reunites his trio of actors formed by Hakim Jemili, Laura Felpin, and Benjamin Tranié for a colorful and irreverent mafia comedy: "Une famille de bâtards," available today on the Prime Video platform.
What is it about?
Following a shooting that left his father for dead, Mohamed (Hakim Jemili) learns that his father, evidently fond of earthly pleasures, had been hiding Maurice (Benjamin Tranié) and Morgane (Laura Felpin), two previously unknown siblings with strong personalities.
Worse, the event forces Mohamed to live with his new siblings and take care of the bar "Chez Momo," a hotspot for Parisian vices. Amid scams, slot machines, and sibling crises, they will discover together that blood ties can be messy and hard to erase.

Who is in the cast?
To accompany this trio of hapless characters, Mourad Winter has enlisted two big names in French comedy, Kad Merad and Florence Foresti, who play roles far removed from their usual performances: that of a blind old sage and a madam!
Alongside them, the film features the rising face of French humor, Alexandre Kominek, who will share the screen with the seasoned comedian David Ayala, a talented actor who has made a name for himself in supporting roles in French cinema (Miséricorde, Les K D’or, D’argent et de Sang, etc.).
A Refreshing Comedy
Just as he did in "L’amour c'est surcoté," where he played with the romantic comedy genre, Mourad Winter here toys with the codes of mafia fiction to deliver a story of family reconciliation, enriched by a thoughtful reflection on the complex heritage of descendants of Algerian immigrants.

Filmed in a delightful vintage atmosphere from the late 1990s, this comedy, while clearly not suitable for the whole family, should resonate well with all generations.
