Tottenham Hotspur appears to be making a strong push to acquire Cody Gakpo, with the Dutch winger emerging as a key target alongside Manchester City's Savinho for their attacking lineup.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, crucial discussions regarding Gakpo’s potential transfer are imminent at Spurs.
The North London club views the Liverpool player as a priority for bolstering their offensive wings. However, the feasibility of this transfer largely hinges on Liverpool's stance. Currently, Gakpo is not listed among the players available for sale by the Reds. Romano notes that a transfer could only materialize if Liverpool's management is willing to negotiate a sale and if the financial terms are acceptable. Gakpo has a contract with Liverpool that runs until 2030.
Gakpo made his move to Liverpool in January 2023 for a fee of €42 million from PSV Eindhoven. Last season, he featured in 52 matches across all competitions, contributing nine goals and seven assists.
