Mateo Kovacic Responds to Transfer Speculation Amid Interest from Inter Milan and Juventus
Mateo Kovacic is linked with a return to Inter Milan, but he remains committed to Manchester City. Reports indicate interest from Juventus as well, while Kovacic expresses confidence in his role at City.

Mateo Kovacic has emerged as a potential returnee to Inter Milan, but the Croatian midfielder appears committed to Manchester City for now.
According to reports from BBC Sport, both Juventus and Inter Milan are showing interest in securing Kovacic's services. The midfielder's contract with City runs until 2027, and as of now, there has been no proposal for an extension.
Kovacic remains unfazed by the transfer rumors, expressing confidence in the backing he receives from the Sky Blues. "I have not felt any question marks from their side. I have spoken with them, they count on me, and that was important for me to hear," he stated. He emphasized the importance of performing well, saying, "As a professional, it's up to me to show my best version. If you play well, the coach will put you in the lineup."
In a recent friendly against Inter, City’s new coach Enzo Maresca offered a less definitive stance regarding Kovacic's future. "Mateo is our player. As long as he is here, I will do everything I can," Maresca remarked, underscoring his commitment to help every player reach their full potential.
Kovacic made a move to Manchester City in 2023 for a fee of €29.1 million from Chelsea. However, his previous season was marred by injuries, including issues with his Achilles tendon and ankle, limiting him to just nine appearances and one assist over 242 minutes of play. Prior to his stint in England, Kovacic played for Inter from 2013 to 2015.
