Lucas Digne Returns to Paris Saint-Germain: Transfer Confirmed

Lucas Digne, the 33-year-old French international, is making a return to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) after signing a long-term contract with the club. PSG announced that Digne has agreed to a deal that will keep him at the French champions until 2029, and he will wear the number 12 jersey.

This marks Digne's second stint at PSG, having previously played for the club from 2013 to 2016. His most recent club was Aston Villa, where he emerged as a key player under manager Unai Emery. During the last season, Digne made 44 appearances and provided eight assists. He had joined Aston Villa in January 2022 for a transfer fee of €30 million from Everton.

A Familiar Face for Coach Luis Enrique

Before returning to PSG, Digne had a successful period at FC Barcelona, where he was signed in 2016 for €16.5 million. Under the guidance of Luis Enrique, who is now his coach at PSG, Digne played 46 matches and contributed to the team’s success by winning La Liga, two Copa del Rey titles, and the Supercopa.

Digne has also been a regular member of the French national team, earning 64 caps and participating in the squads for the 2014 and 2026 World Cups.
