Loan Move: Mastantuono Leaves Real Madrid for Fiorentina

Franco Mastantuono, the 18-year-old Argentine talent, is officially leaving Real Madrid to join Fiorentina on loan.

The Italian club announced the transfer via X, confirming that they will have Mastantuono's services until the end of the 2026/27 season. This move marks a fresh start for the young winger after a challenging first year in Spain.

Mastantuono made a high-profile switch to Real Madrid in the summer of 2025, with the club paying 45 million euros to River Plate. However, he struggled to meet the lofty expectations placed upon him during his time at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Disappointing Debut Season

Last season, Mastantuono managed to feature in 33 matches across all competitions, but he only scored three goals and did not provide any assists. His lack of impact led to him being omitted from Argentina's World Cup squad by national coach Lionel Scaloni.

New Competition at Real Madrid

With the impending arrival of Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig for a staggering 125 million euros, Real Madrid had little use for Mastantuono. Other clubs, including Juventus, Galatasaray, and Fulham, were also interested in acquiring the young forward.

At Fiorentina, Mastantuono is expected to gain valuable playing time under coach Fabio Grosso. His contract with Real Madrid is set to run until 2031.
