DFB Reintroduces Standing Tickets After Over 25 Years
The DFB has announced the return of standing tickets for national team matches after 25 years, starting with Jürgen Klopp's debut. This initiative aims to enhance fan culture and provide affordable options.
In a significant move for football fans, the German Football Association (DFB) has announced the return of standing tickets for national team matches after more than 25 years. This decision was made official by the DFB's supervisory board and the shareholders' meeting of DFB GmbH and Co. KG. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase standing tickets during the home debut of new head coach Jürgen Klopp, scheduled for September 27 against Greece in Augsburg, followed by a match against Serbia on October 1 in Munich.
DFB President Bernd Neuendorf emphasized the strong demand for standing areas among fans. "That’s why we have advocated for the reintroduction of standing areas at international matches and tournaments within UEFA in recent years," he stated. Neuendorf highlighted that standing tickets are a vital part of fan culture and the overall stadium experience in Germany.
Standing Tickets for Women’s and U21 Matches
The reintroduction of standing tickets also aims to provide a more affordable option for fans, reinforcing the belief that football should be accessible to everyone. Standing areas will be available not only for the men's and women's A national teams but also for the U21 squad.
