Batshuayi Set for Move as Frankfurt Departure Takes Shape

Michy Batshuayi, the 32-year-old Belgian forward, appears to be on the verge of a transfer to Saudi Arabia, with reports indicating he is set to leave Eintracht Frankfurt for Al Shabab.

According to information from the Saudi newspaper Okaz and the Frankfurter Rundschau, negotiations between Eintracht and Al Shabab have progressed significantly, suggesting that a deal could be finalized soon.

The context of Batshuayi's departure is tied to the changing dynamics at Frankfurt. Under new head coach Adi Hütter, the forward has found himself sidelined. Batshuayi joined Frankfurt in February 2025 for a fee of three million euros from Galatasaray but has struggled to meet expectations during his time with the club.

In the recently concluded season, Batshuayi made only ten appearances, scoring just one goal in 173 minutes of play. His contract with Eintracht Frankfurt is set to run until 2027. A transfer to Saudi Arabia presents an opportunity for the club to save on his substantial salary while also generating a transfer fee.

Batshuayi’s potential exit follows the recent departure of Junior Dina Ebimbe, who moved to FC Schalke 04, marking another notable transfer in a short span. Additionally, discussions are ongoing regarding Ellyes Skhiri, with several clubs showing interest.
