Nissa Eyes Barillà: Interest in the Former Reggina Player
Nissa continues to strengthen its squad after signing Lamine Fofana, now showing interest in Antonino Barillà, a former Reggina player and free agent, as they aim for promotion in Serie C.

Nissa is actively pursuing new talent in the transfer market, having recently secured the signing of Lamine Fofana. The Sicilian club is now reportedly turning its attention back to Reggina, a team noted for its strong prospects in the race for promotion to Serie C. They are particularly interested in acquiring another seasoned player associated with the Reggina colors.
According to reports from Pascal Desiato, Nissa has expressed interest in Antonino Barillà, a midfielder born in 1988, who is currently a free agent after concluding his stint with Reggina.
A true emblem of Reggina, Barillà returned to don the amaranto jersey for the 2023/24 season, becoming a pivotal figure both on and off the pitch. His extensive experience in Serie A and Serie B, coupled with a deep understanding of Italian football, makes him an attractive option for Nissa.
The reports indicate that initial discussions have already taken place between Nissa and Barillà’s representatives. This suggests that Nissa's interest is serious, although no formal agreements have been reached as of yet.
For the Sicilian side, Barillà would bring significant value, not only due to his experience and character but also because of his familiarity with Serie D and the dynamics of a top-tier season.
Following the acquisition of Fofana, Nissa appears poised to further tap into the Reggina talent pool. The next step lies with Barillà, who must now consider the possibility of continuing his career outside of Reggio Calabria.
