Filming of the Romantic Comedy 'Dancing with Weights' Concludes in Kyiv
Filming of the romantic comedy 'Dancing with Weights' has concluded in Kyiv, set to premiere on October 22.

It will hit the big screens on October 22.

Filming of the romantic comedy 'Dancing with Weights' has concluded in Kyiv — a story about love, dance, sports, and personal transformation. The film's premiere in Ukrainian cinemas will take place on October 22, 2026. This was announced by the film's communication team.
The author of the idea and lead actor Aram Arzumanian shared that he came up with the idea for this film after participating in the show 'Dancing with the Stars' in 2020.
"For me, it was a completely different world. The glamorous world for a brutal heavyweight athlete is the absolute opposite. And that’s when the idea came to my mind to make a film. I lived it, went to bed thinking about how to bring my dream to life," Arzumanian shared.
According to him, 'Dancing with Weights' is a story about people who dare to take a step towards realizing their dreams.
"It’s a story about change and second chances. Once you dreamed of something and wanted to do it, but didn’t because of your surroundings. And then the moment comes when you have to act. It’s about the relationships between different generations. The film shows that older people aren’t always right. Because the youth are also smart and can teach adults to be right," said the actor.

To look like real weightlifters, the actors attended weightlifting training for two months under the guidance of professional athletes and coaches. In particular, they trained with international class sports master in weightlifting, Sergey Tagirov.
The actor playing the role of Sasha, Roman Kucheryavenko, shared that this experience inspired him to continue weightlifting in the future.
"We trained for two months; it’s different from just working out because these are very complex technical exercises. And the most important thing for us was to perfect the technique so that everything looked convincing on screen. We’re not just lifting heavy weights; we’re doing it technically, perfectly," said the actor.
According to the actress playing Milana, Paola-Elizabet Jim, the film 'Dancing with Weights' combines several themes that may resonate with the audience.
"It’s such an inspiring movie. I read or watch things on playback, and I want the characters to succeed. It’s about youth, about art, about the journey. A beautiful, romantic film. And people lack that vibe in these times," added the actress.

The film will also feature a cameo appearance by Dmytro Kolyadenko.
"It’s fun, it’s about life, very modern and humorous. Right now, it’s important for everyone to see stories that inspire. I like the team because they are professionals. There’s a great director, cool screenwriters, well-known actors, and young actors here," said the showman.
'Dancing with Weights' has become the first project of the new Ukrainian film production company Crazy Train. It was created by Aram Arzumanian, Oleg Borshchevsky, Mykola Kutsyk, Kyrylo Tymchenko, and Vyacheslav Bratukh.

Recall that filming of the dance-sport comedy 'Dancing with Weights' began in Kyiv on April 25. The film was directed by Oleg Borshchevsky, known for his work on the films 'Train on December 31' and 'Well, Mom!'.
According to the plot, a weightlifting coach, due to a misunderstanding, is forced to lead a dance section. His student Sasha, who dreams of the Olympics, faces a choice between sports ambitions and feelings for Milana — a gifted dancer and the daughter of the local mayor.
