Disclosure Day: What is the Totally Unexpected Link Between Mission Impossible and Steven Spielberg's New Film?

Is there a connection between Josh O'Connor's character in Disclosure Day and Tom Cruise's character in War of the Worlds, both directed by Steven Spielberg?

When we asked Josh O'Connor about his "Tom Cruise-like" look in the film, we certainly did not expect this response. And it’s quite a tasty anecdote, revealing the good atmosphere on set.

During certain takes, the crew had a little ritual when it came to shooting action scenes! "It was a sort of joke between us. Every time I had to do an action scene, [Steven Spielberg], Kristie [Macosko Krieger], and Emily [Blunt] would sing the Mission Impossible theme every time I ran!"

An Iconic and Inspiring Theme!

Steven Spielberg continues: "We would do the Mission: Impossible theme every time he had to get behind the wheel of a car or hang onto a speeding train. We all got into it! I would take a microphone and I would... (He mimics the Mission Impossible theme)."

"And it really helped, I must say," emphasizes Josh O'Connor with a big smile!

We asked Josh O'Connor if he would like to do more action films like this one? "Yeah, I had the best time of my life. I loved it. I loved it."

And Steven Spielberg points out: "He is well-coordinated. That helps!"
