If you love martial arts and adrenaline, this film is for you! Released in theaters in June 2026, The Furious has already established itself as THE action movie of the year. Directed by Kenji Tanigaki, who coordinated the fight scenes for John Wick: Chapter 4, this feature film has achieved the remarkable average rating of 3.9 out of 5 (from 442 ratings) in less than two weeks. If you haven't seen it yet, here's everything you need to know!

An Action Film in the Vein of The Raid

The Furious is not just any film. The reason? It has been directed by a key figure in Hong Kong action cinema for decades. And it shows! Considered the brand new The Raid by Gareth Evans, this action film follows a father's (Xie Miao) quest to find his daughter kidnapped by a criminal network. His only ally is Navin (played by Joe Taslim, from Mortal Kombat II), a journalist whose wife has also disappeared...

In the spirit of The Raid, The Furious skillfully handles all the revenge-fueled choreography. By the way, producer Bill Kong, who notably worked on Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, admitted he wanted to create "the ultimate martial arts film." Not only that, he also expressed his desire to "prove that Hong Kong still has something to offer." Challenge accepted!
