Cinema Quiz: 10 Questions for Robin Hood Fans!

It's a new adaptation of the adventures of Robin Hood that will be presented this Wednesday in theaters, featuring Hugh Jackman in the lead role. This is an opportunity for a quiz on this iconic character from literature and pop culture.

This new adaptation of the adventures of Robin Hood will be available for you to discover tomorrow in theaters, with Hugh Jackman taking over the title role from Kevin Costner in the 1991 film and Russell Crowe in the 2010 version.

In They Called Him Robin Hood by Michael Sarnosky, we are introduced to a hero with a different face than the one we previously knew, a character haunted by his past after a life of crime and violence, left for dead after a fight he thought would be his last. Rescued by a mysterious woman, he is offered one last chance at redemption.

Do you think you know the story of this legendary hero well, as well as the various film adaptations dedicated to him? Let’s test that through the ten questions of this quiz, along with some behind-the-scenes secrets about the film hitting theaters tomorrow.

DID YOU KNOW?

Hugh Jackman contacted the director himself
Unlike many Hollywood castings, it was Hugh Jackman who made the first move. A huge admirer of Pig, the debut feature film of Michael Sarnoski, the actor requested to read the script after hearing about it from producer Aaron Ryder. The two men met in a bar in Manhattan, just a few blocks from their homes, and immediately shared the same vision for the character. Sarnoski then realized that Jackman could embody both the brutality and the fragility of this disillusioned Robin.

Special effects entirely done "the old-fashioned way"
Michael Sarnoski was adamant about avoiding digital effects for injuries and bloody scenes. The makeup and prosthetics teams crafted articulated jaws, arrow-pierced eyes, and blood pump systems used directly on set. Even the famous bleeding scene of Robin was filmed without VFX thanks to a specially molded prosthetic on Hugh Jackman's arm. The result gives the film a very physical, almost disturbing violence.
